I first saw this species at the Chicago Botanic Garden and knew I had to have one! They smell fantastic and tend to flower with almost a dozen flowers per spike (many more than your other Stan. species), and while the flowers are smaller than your average Stanhopea they'll still put your other plants to shame. Stanhopeas bloom from the bottom of the plant, so you'll need to put them in a basket and water often. If you forget to water as frequently in the winter, don't worry - this often makes them bloom better in summer! Near blooming size now so get them potted into a basket soon. I personally grow them in coco chips/perlite with a coco mat liner at the bottom with good results.
